Colonial Heights High School Locker Room Renovation

Inversity worked with Enteros Design to provide MEP design services for a locker room renovation at Colonial Heights High School. There had been very little updating to the locker room areas since their original construction. Both locker rooms include dressing rooms and shower areas, coaches’ offices, and toilet rooms, but - in addition to the boys’ locker room on the south side of the gym - there was also a boys’ team room with showers and other support spaces such as storage, laundry, and corridors leading both to the gym and to the exterior.

The purpose of the project was to renovate the existing locker room areas on both sides of the gym in order to provide the school with equal and modern boys’ and girls’ locker room facilities. As part of this work, Enteros Design was tasked with determining the optimal space usage of all of the area on both the north and south side of the Gym. They were successful in developing a layout that housed the plumbing and girls’ and boys’ lockers on one side of the gymnasium, leaving the original boys’ locker room space for new classroom space and equipment storage. Additionally, team locker rooms, a training room, laundry, and coaches’ offices were configured. The total renovation area (both sides of the Gym combined) to approximately 8,300 square feet. Handicapped accessibility, new MEP systems, upgraded finishes, and new lockers were all part of the upgrades.
