Bunge, Inc. Warehouse – Cooling

Bunge North America Packaging plant determined a need to install a cooling system in the existing 11,000 SF warehouse and Inversity was awarded the work via a Prime contract with the Owner. The warehouse served as a shipping and receiving area in addition to the storage area for packaging materials. The building envelope was originally specified to allow for cooling; however, the warehouse only contained a limited amount of heating and ventilation. The desired cooling system now maintains a space temperature suitable for storing margarine and/or spread products in preparation for shipment. Our work was required to be completed prior to the cooling season, and our original budget and schedule were both met.

In addition to the cooling design necessary, the existing electrical system was expanded as needed to supply power to the new mechanical equipment. Inversity staff worked closely with the Bunge plant processing engineers to insure the room stayed at extremely accurate temperatures so that the product (margarine) would cool at a specific rate. Because of this, coordination with the process engineers guaranteed that Inversity chose the right equipment for the specific application while still accomplishing the broader, mechanical cooling needs of the warehouse.
